Today I read Mosiah Chapter 3. You can argue the existence of deityall you want, sweetheart, but truth will be the same yesterday, today, and forever (2 Nephi 27:23). Salvation will come only in the name of Christ (Mosiah 3:17). He knows our pains and sorrows and has died for our sins. A gift – FREE! However, it cost Him more than mortal man can comprehend (v7). Will you let this gift go unclaimed? What a sad thing if that's the case. But there is a way back, It's not all that easy, but the reward is amazing and the journey much easier than continuing to “kick against the pricks” (D&C 121:38). Mosiah 3:18 “. . . become as a little child and believe . . . in Christ. Anything less is the natural man – an enemy to God (v19). Do you want to be an enemy to God? If our works are evil, we live with that guilt and will shrink from the presence of the Lord. Misery and endless torment will then be our companions – not a pleasing thought (v25).
I want to add here that I believe “shrinking from the presence of the Lord” might be similar to what we experience in this life when we withdraw from the presence of our family because we are not living the gospel as we were taught in our youth. Being around family is an uncomfortable place to be and so here we have the choice to withdraw from them. We are not “kicked out”, as we sometimes claim. We withdraw of our own accord. I personally feel we will withdraw ourselves from our Heavenly Father in a similar way. I could be wrong.
It's a spooky thing to hit the “publish post” button. I'm open for discussion though – all you “followers”. :=)
