3 Nephi 15
My thoughts this morning are simple, but are still something to think about.
Jesus is still teaching the Nephites. He tells them “. . . other sheep I have which are not of this fold. . .”
I have a post-it note from Bruce R. McKonkie’s book, Mormon Doctrine, p65: “Our Lord’s jurisdiction and power extend far beyond the limits of this one earth on which we dwell. He is, under the Father, the Creator of worlds without number (Moses 1:33). And through the power of his Atonement the inhabitants of these worlds, the revelations says, ‘are begotten sons and daughters unto God’ (D&C 76:24) which means that, the Atonement of Christ, being literally and truly infinite, applies to an infinite number of earths.”
This is mind-boggling. It makes it simple for me to believe there are inhabitants on worlds not our own. It also brings up the topic of future scripture being revealed. If the Lord loves all of us equally, it is not hard to believe that other worlds (and even the Lost Tribes who will be found) have had experience in revelation and prophecy as well. This thought makes me ask the question: “Will I be open to more scripture when it is revealed?” I guess this is where I can be grateful for the knowledge I have and the experience I have had with the Holy Ghost. The answer is “but of course!” The Spirit will make it clear to me if it is truth or the cunning ways of man. Phew!
