Alma 13 – Alma preaches and tells the people we were “prepared from the foundation of the world”. God knows us. The book I’m reading, “Trailing Clouds of Glory” by Widdison, is sound evidence that we are who we have been for eons of time – we were foreordained to do certain things, i.e. we have an earthly mission.
How does this apply to me? Since I don’t really remember exactly what my mission is, I need to do as Alma suggests in Verses 28-29 “watch, pray continually”. Watch for what? Pray for what? Opportunities to help others and to increase in my own testimony, and that the temptations of the world will be bearable so I might be blessed with the Holy Ghost, and “be humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and long suffering. Having faith . . . .hope. . . .and a love of God.”
Long suffering takes on a whole new meaning when you find yourself a parent of a misguided, adult child.
