My personal arsenal

Alma 44 – Moroni has captured Zarahemnah and promises to let him and his army go if he’ll covenant to leave them alone.  Zarahemnah will not, continues to battle and is scalped.  Some of them covenant and are allowed to leave in peace.

In Moroni’s discourse to Zarahemnah, he tells him they have been favored of God because of their faith in God.  In fact, there is a list of items that brought them success in their effort to fight the enemy.

  •     Faith in God
  •     Rites of worship (What are “rites”?  Webster’s say “Cremonial practices of a church” .
  •   By the church
  •   Support of wives and children
  •     Maintenance of sacred word – AKA scriptures

If these contributed to the Nephite’s success, we need to consider them in our own battles.

Do I have faith in God?  Absolutely!  I know He is aware of my every detail.

What are my “rites of worship”?  My daily devotions, church attendance and partaking of the sacrament and temple worship.

Our church – AKA ward family.  We are stronger against the attacks of Satan when we are intricately involved with our ward family.

Wives and children – knowing you have family who count on you increases the faith to do what is right.
Maintenance of the sacred word – daily reading the words of the prophets – old as well as new.

How does this apply to me?  If I want to have the Spirit protect me against the power of evil, it’s simple.  I will participate regularly in these activities.
